🎨 The 300th – Heroes of the Blackstone Vault

Project Type: Display Paint Set
Game System: Warhammer Quest: Blackstone Fortress
Technique Focus: NMM, Atmospheric Lighting, Narrative Painting
Paint Time: ~1–2 hours per miniature
Theme: Sci-fi mystery, rogue operatives, and haunted tech

🕯️ Lore Snippet:

The 300th are not an official regiment. Not anymore.
They’re survivors, mercenaries, and mystics—each one cast from a different world, drawn into the impossible gravity of the Blackstone Fortress. Some seek redemption. Others seek ruin. All of them are being hunted.

🖌️ Artist Notes:

Each model in this set was approached as an individual character study. Painted in small sessions, these figures focus on:

  • Non-Metallic Metal (NMM): Hand-painted illusion of metal surfaces—gold, steel, brass—without using metallic paints.

  • Color Atmosphere: Each character was given a unique lighting palette to reflect their story role—cold plasma greens, smoldering reds, glowing data blue.

  • Speed & Precision: Every miniature was completed within a 1–2 hour focused window, maintaining high visual clarity and contrast.

“I wanted them to feel like NPCs in a gritty, hand-painted sci-fi RPG—just before the cutscene turns deadly.”

🧩 Miniatures Included:

  • Janus Draik, Rogue Trader – Dashing, with weathered aristocratic tones

  • Espern Locarno, Navigator – Etherial blues and deep psychic shadows

  • Pious Vorne – Prophetic flame and battle-scarred zeal

  • Dahyak Grekh, Kroot Mercenary – Wasteland survival tones with sharp highlight contrasts

  • Amallyn Shadowguide, Aeldari Ranger – Ghost green, twilight stealth

  • UR-025 – Weathered teal with subtle power-source glow

  • Taddeus the Purifier – Worn ecclesiastical golds and battle-robe reds

  • Rein & Raus – Comedic duo in grim tones—snipers and saboteurs
