🌲 The Lion on a Forest Walk

🧙 Lore Snippet
On Caliban Lost, where the boughs whisper secrets and the air trembles with old power, the Lion walks. Wrapped in emerald and gold, he moves through the ruins of a once-sacred forest, his gaze set far beyond the veil of leaves. Even here—amid fallen temples and forgotten saints—his thoughts wander, and the world is too quiet for a Primarch’s soul.
🎨 Artist Notes
This piece was a turning point in my early display work—an atmospheric study rooted in narrative and colour theory. The Lion is painted in rich, saturated tones to contrast the cold desaturation of his environment, inspired by a passage in The Lion: Son of the Forest. The base, hand-built and strewn with skulls and leaf litter, evokes slow decay. This was also my first attempt at damascene steel NMM, and one of my earliest magnetized head swaps. While I'd approach many elements differently now, it stands untouched—a personal milestone in mood, story, and experimentation.
