This is Val-K from Neko Galaxy Miniatures, painted as a commission in an international art exchange. My collector client in the US selected this sculpt from a curated lineup, and I poured myself into making it uniquely hers. The bold cyberpunk bust aesthetic was inspired by the studio’s signature black and red palette, while also weaving in softer, “girly girl” contrasts – making the character feel powerful and personal.

I completed this piece in early 2024, and it became a deep dive into airbrush transitions, reflected light, and painterly texture effects, particularly across the armor plating and swirling metallics. I wanted the suit to feel like high-tech armor – sleek, alive, and reactive – while still letting her expression and poise shine through.

Val-K has since made her way across the world, and now lives proudly in my client’s home – a one-of-a-kind piece that reflects both the power of miniature art and the emotional storytelling behind each brushstroke.
